Watch out, world... here comes Jada!

I apologise for not updating in such a long time. It's not that I do not want to but mommy has been hogging the computer as she has been so busy busy busy with work + having to tend to the needs of a demanding pwincesh like me. Therefore, I did not get any chance of working on her computer.

I was also down with chicken pox around 2 weeks before I turned 1 year old. Yeayyy... yes, I am already one year old. Mommy and daddy has done a good job taking care of me. Unfortunately, we do not know where I contracted the chicken pox and thankfully, mommy and daddy took me to the clinic quickly. The doctor prescribed an antiviral medication which I hated so much and mommy had to ensure exact timing to administer the medication... that, meaning that she needed to wake me up from sleep and I have to admit that I didn't make it any easier on her nor daddy. I tried to be a good girl but I just can't... my system told me to just kick about and scream all I can whenever they tried to feed me my meds. Hmmm... I'm sorry mommy, daddy... thankfully, I recovered within one week with no visible scars although I did lose weight from my lack of appetite to eat and vomitting 4-5 times a day for the entire week.

warm sunshine... mommy bought a small baskin robbins birthday cake
for me to celebrate with atuk, nenek, pak long and mak long PJ

huge cake but i could only taste a tiny portion of it :)

.... and in turn, I infected mommy as well. See, I love her so much because even though she knew she would most likely get infected from me, she braved it through because a mother's love is just marvellous. Her chicken pox was bad since the doctor did mention that adult chicken pox can be such a pain but she managed to pull through it, in the middle of tight deadlines and yes, tending to a demanding pwincesh like me. Nyehnyeh. In my defense, I've heard many people tell mommy that I am such a well-behaved girl and I think mommy did tell daddy that yes, despite me being demanding at times, I am not very difficult to understand :)

Anyways, I regret to not be able to update my adventurous one-week journey in London in my previous post and I was also in Jakarta and Bandung a month after that. It was a blast and I am happy to say that before the age of one, I was doing things even many adults have never done in their lifetime... a 13-hour flight to and fro, train ride, visit to an active volcano and even smelling its sulphur up close to their crater and oh, getting infected with the chicken pox hehe. And when mommy was busy with her project where she was required to travel even to some remote places, I saw huge padi fields and even get to touch the padi :) of course, I do not think I will remember any of these experiences when I grow up but at least I know I have lots of photos, videos and this blog to remind me of what I went through during my first year.

i am so happy that mommy's work allows her to take me with her
everywhere she goes ;)

Now, I already have a small tooth and am learning to walk, thanks to my Pak Long Keramat who bought me this cute walker.

This is a scene of me, in my better mood...

i just got this cool toy yesterday and i can't believe that i could actually walk!

And this is me in my not so better mood ;P

yes, i can be a real drama queen...

When I turned one, mommy has allowed me to taste food adults eat except those really oily and hard types since I only have one small tooth. Mommy and daddy has also started to wean me off mommy's breastmilk and I gotta say that the Pediasure chocolate flavoured milk has the thumbs up from me. Nevertheless, I still prefer mommy's milk and I can be highly unpredictable, to the point of being irritating hehe... I am only a baby, am I not? So, adults would just have to accept that. Sometimes I would drink just 1 scoop and sometimes I can finish up 2 scoops of the milk, 2-3 times a day. However, when I want to turn in to bed, I wouldn't accept any amount of formula and can scream as loud as possible just so mommy would give in to me. Hehe... aren't I the most powerful baby?

As much as I look forward to growing up, I still have this attachment towards mommy's boobies and I hope I won't tire her down when I start to walk =D

Jada Kyra, in London (Day 2)

Saturday, 18 April 2009

Today, mommy and daddy was busy hunting the car seat mommy wanted to get me when she identified it from back home. I needed the car seat since we're all going shopping for the next 2 days in a rented 7-seater and it is a must for a baby to be seated in her own seat. Abang Noah is also getting a new one as he has outgrown the old one. Unfortunately, the seat mommy saw was out of stock almost everywhere in London.

Mummy Eju told mommy to just get whatever seat available from Argos and we could return it after that but mommy didn't wince at her decision... she's one tough cookie my mommy, she is. So, daddy had to hunt for the seat almost everywhere nearby London by calling all Mothercare stores and check out all Babies R Us stores too. Finally, daddy found it at Kiddicare.com. Unlike Mothercare that takes 4 working days to deliver, Kiddicare only takes 2 days and the seat was cheaper, it seems.

Today, we went to pick up the 7-seater MPV that mummy Eju has rented for all of us for the next 3 days of shopping adventure. Mommy was so excited because she wants to shop... hehe...

We picked up the MPV at the nearest Avis outlet. The car is not as comfortable as ayah muz's BMW :( but, I am only a baby and I cannot yet talk. So, no one would understand me.

Then, we went to Argos to get the car seat for abang noah and since he's got a new seat, he was kind enough to let me use his old one. Yeayyy...

After we have gotten those, we went back home, got ready and then ayah muz drove us all to a place called Galleria. Mommy bought Clarks shoes for herself and abang, Arsenal jerseys from a sports outlet for abang, and she managed to get a Calvin Klein sunglass for 15pounds & a Timberland frame for 12 pounds only from TK Mexx. She was so happy with those purchase.

There were nothing much for me since mommy had already bought tonnes of clothes for me from the highstreet yesterday... I got a nice fleece jacket ala 'Audrey Hepburn' (that's what mommy said) and sleepsuits from Next baby and a bundle of clothes from Mothercare. Mommy said I have enough to last me until I am 2 years old hikhikhik.

Mommy also got something for auntie Niza's Shasha, and bracelets for kakak Qila and kakak Nina, all from Next. They are so lucky that mommy also think about them.

That is why I don't mind that today, mommy didn't buy anything for me... I am grateful for being able to travel with mommy and the numerous stops she had to make, just so she could feed my hungwy tummy :D

Jada Kyra in London (Day 1)

Friday, 17 April 2009

On my 1st day in London (the arrival date doesn't count), I got a little cranky. No, very cranky. I guess it was because I woke up too early, got really confused by the time difference and I still cannot express my feelings clearly to mommy and daddy. Therefore, I was crying my heart out for someone to allow me to sleep a little longer.

Mommy then put me back to sleep and I guess the short nap helped tremendously as I was then ready to face London in a more positive way.

Once I was feeling better, mommy fed me breakfast. I was very hungry too and loved the spot where mommy fed me... I also loved abang noah's booster seat.

After breakfast, I played with abang Noah's toys while daddy had breakfast.

After I was bathed and gotten ready, ayah muz helped prep me up by taking out abang noah's stroller and protected it with a plastic cover since the weatherman says it would rain.

I was crying because everything felt alien to me and I was also still feeling sleepy actually.

Here, I am all covered up nicely and I love the weather tremendously... I didn't push the blanket away the way I would usually do and slept almost immediately after mommy and daddy started to walk. The underground is the best way to go around London and Maida Vale station was just about 5 minutes walk away from where we were staying.

I was awake when it was almost lunch time and couldn't wait to get out of the stroller for mommy to feed me.

I love this picture... you won't see photos like this with mommy and me simply because only mommy seem to be taking candid pictures ;P

Mommy and daddy did plenty of walking around Oxford and Regent Street and shopped quite a bit for me too yeayy... whenever I felt sleepy, I would just sleep. But when I start getting restless, I would cry so that daddy would pick me up and carry me in the Baby Bjorn so that I am able to see and feel the busy atmostphere of the city.

here i am, in the middle of the hecticness...

daddy and i were in a Nokia store... it was huge!

All the while walking around going in and out of shopping stores, mommy and daddy kinda complaint of the lack of baby-changing facilities. We are pretty lucky that it is quite easy to find a specific area for baby-changing in many of our shopping malls back home. At one point in Selfridges, we had to queue up all the way from outside them toilets along with the adults as the changing area is placed inside the adult's loo... daddy then decided to bring me into the gent's as there wasn't any queue to enter it. Access to the toilet was so narrow that the stroller couldn't even get through... not friendly for single parent with a stroller.

Our final destination saw mommy going crazy in Mothercare hehe... good for me! And before we left, I let out a nice number 2 and was thankful that they have such a comfy changing room with a really nice layout.

By 8pm, I was already feeling tired and snoozed immediately, all comfy on the double layer of duvet in the guest room.

The day of my departure and arrival in London

Thursday, 16 April 2009

Daddy woke me up really early that fine day when I was to fly with mommy to a far far away place. Mommy carried me in front of her while she carried a backpack on her back and that favourite huge red handbag I love to tug on.

21/04/2009 - Share on Ovi
i was a little sleepy on the way to the airport.
see those red handles of mommy's handbag that i love
to get my hands on :D

Everything was good until mommy reached the gate and daddy called to say the car keys are with mommy. Thankfully, the security people were extremely helpful and took the car keys instead of mommy having to go back all the way to the departure hall with such heavy lugs on her.

As soon as we enter the plane, mommy gave some orangey fluid to me and I felt drowsy almost immediately. But, I was as excited as mommy and I felt all energetic to experience this first in my lifetime experience. I guess mommy was worried of how I will survive this long flight when I couldn't even stand nenek or wan mummy's house even for a few hours... and I think she only agrees to this since daddy is coming over later tonight and we would all go home together in one flight.

Frankly, I don't even know how I can survive this but I will try since mommy is all alone :D

When the plane almost went into gear, I decided that I was thirsty and mommy let me have my milk. Soon after, I think I fell asleep. Mommy said I slept for 2 full hours, woke up only to drink some more, and slept again for another 2 hours. Therefore, mommy also managed to catch a few hours of sleep herself. All in all, she said I was a good girl because I hardly disturbed her except for that occasional moments when I was sick of sitting in the bassinet with all those people looking at me and those times when I needed to be changed. Mommy was like a pro and so calm even when I was crying my usual impatient cry... she would put on that loyal baby bjorn on her and carried me comfortably on the flight.

She tried drugging me again on the last 4 hours before the plane landed but unfortunately, my body was stronger and I only slept for 1/2 hour hehe... I proved to mommy that I don't need to be drugged and I let her eat her meal until she finished it while I played in my bassinet.

When we landed, mommy got to cut queue, we were asked some questions by the officer who took our red books and we went over to collect our huge bag. An older man was so helpful and helped mommy carry our luggage onto the trolley and mommy then looked for ayah muz who was supposed to pick us up at the airport. Basically, we left KLIA at 10am and arrived around 4ish pm London time, which is about midnight back home.

I was already growing extremely restless and ayah muz was nowhere to be seen. Mommy then went to this vending machine and insert money to get a box before she put the thingy in the box into her mobile and started to call ayah muz. The call didn't go through... we roamed the arrival hall again while I cried loudly, hoping that ayah muz would hear my cries... when there was still nothing, mommy walked to the nearest public phone, inserted her credit card and dialled ayah muz's number. Thankfully, ayah muz answered his phone and we were so happy to see him.

He brought us to his brand new BMW and I so loved the cold air.

Due to the difference in time, I got really tired, cried all my might and slept while mommy fed me in the car. I remember hearing mommy asked ayah muz if it was alright I wasn't seated in the car seat and ayah muz said he would warn mommy when we reach the city.

Ayah muz was all chatty, telling and showing mommy what buildings we were passing, the former Malaysia Hall location, where they all had stayed during their student days, traffic jams and congestion charges, etc. I especially loved the area ayah muz is staying as it is very beautiful... we went into the house and abang noah greeted me with tender loving care :D he instantly grabbed my pacifier and continuously tried to pull my hair....

21/04/2009 - Share on Ovi
i tried pulling his pacifier as he did it to me earlier hehe...
darn... but he is so much faster since he can already
crawl and get up and go.

I was up trying to take it all in and slept some time around 8 or 9pm... mommy took a nap next to me and I believe she woke up later to catch up with mummy eju while waiting for daddy to arrive. All the while, I slept soundly and totally love the cold weather. Mommy and I slept on the floor because she was afraid I would fall off the bed but it was absolutely comfortable sleeping on 2 layers of duvet on the floor, just next to the heater.

When daddy arrived, he was greeted with a surprise birthday cake, courtesy of mummy eju. It was a touchy celebration since we didn't get to celebrate daddy's birthday as I was sick and all of us had to stay home.

21/04/2009 - Share on Ovi
surprise, surprise...
thank you, mummy eju, for getting the cake for daddy...
i wuv you!

The next day, I woke up as early as 6.30am, forcing daddy and mommy to wake up too... you think it was too early?? We already hear noises from upstairs as ayah muz and mummy eju probably woke up much earlier than I did.

Enjoy this video of abang noah and me when I arrived...
